The Third Chakra or the Solar Plexus Chakra

The location of the Solar Plexus Chakra (called Manipura in Sanskrit) is between the bottom of the sternum and the naval. It is considered the fire of metabolism, ego and zest for life. The traditional meaning is the “jewel of the navel”.
When your third chakra is balanced and open you emanate confidence, are self-motivated and have a distinct sense of purpose. Some say that a balanced solar plexus charka is like a fire of metamorphosis, burning up negativity and harmonizing your emotions.
If your third chakra is repressed or blocked many experience low self-esteem, have difficulty making decisions, and have control issues by wanting to dominate people and activities.
Here are a few stones frequently used to open, balance and heal the solar plexus chakra. (Some stones you may see used for other chakras as well.)
• Pyrite
• Citrine
• Tiger Eye
• Rhodochrosite (I know it’s not yellow, but it is known to teach the heart to assimilate painful feelings without shutting down, and removes denial.)
• Peridot (Again it is not the standard yellow color (a light green color) associated with the solar plexus however, activates and cleanses the solar plexus and heart chakra (next segment) and it protects from negative influences.
